The Cursed Ad and the Oracle Octopus

With the way things are going in the World Cup, there are only two rational explanations.

Either the world is ending, or this Nike ad is really cursed.

Shame, to think it was arguably the most impressive commercial ever made. Poor Nike, all they're going to get after pouring so much money and effort into this campaign are bad press, lost sales, and a tarnished brand. Pity the commercial's stars even more. Most of them have already been prematurely sent home, even non-World Cup stars like Roger Federer.

The World Cup oddities just won't stop, would it? First it was those damned vuvuzelas, followed by the outrage on the curious spin of the Jabolani ball. Now there's this juicy debate on the better oracle- the cursed Nike ad (pretty much spot-on) or a German octopus named Paul(Also spot-on. He predicts a tight Germany victory over Argentina).

You have to hand it to the octopus. He didn't have to spend millions of dollars for it to get the same predictions as poor Nike.

While all this hoopla definitely makes for an interesting watch and some nice water cooler talk, it seems that football is now the beautiful game for all the wrong reasons.
